Notes For New Ralliers
What To Expect
If you have never been on a rally before, the West Warwickshire Centre would be very happy to welcome you to any of the rallies listed on this website (see 2017 Rally Programme). Our rallies are simply a gathering of Caravan and Motorhome Club members for a weekend or longer (in the case of holiday rallies), to promote friendship and pursue the many pleasures of caravanning.
The rally stewards are just ordinary members who have volunteered their time to organise and run the rally. Their duties include liasing with the landowner, signing the approach to the rally, managing facilities for water, waste water and elsan disposal. Often they may arrange a programme for the entertainment of those on the rally -- a quiz, a ramble or a social, maybe a barbeque. Although you should never feel obliged to join in anything that dies not interest you.
In addition to the items you usually take to a commercial site, you also need to provide power in the form of a 12v battery, your own sanitation and water container to fill it (toilets must NEVER be taken to the drinking tap as this is a serious health risk). You will also need waste bags to take away your dry waste. Also simple wedges to level your caravan may be uesful.
To book onto a rally simply fill in one of the booking slips (you can print more here) or in many case e-mail the Steward (info. provided at the foot of individual rally information pages). Please do this within 7 days of the rally start date (unless it is a prepaid rally when booking should be made within 14 days).
When you go to the rally, follow the directions provided. As you approach the site watch for our rally signs (black WWCCC lettering usually on an orange background). Once at the site please book in with the Stewards and let them know if this is your first rally. They will give you details for water and waste water disposal and direct you to a pitch. Towards the end of the rally there is a "flag" (flagpole) meeting where the ralliers gather to hear the results of any competitions, centre news and extend their thanks to all that have contributed to the running of the rally.
Please come along, you will be made to feel welcome and hopefully the experience will open up a new branch of caravanning for you to enjoy in the future. If you are in any doubt or would like further information please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate steward or any committee member, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.We very much look forward to seeing you on the rally field.
